This Product Manager will be responsible for the [research and selection of the product development of the roofing target market. The position resides in Canton, MA and reports to the VP, Technical/Roofing.
· Interface with leadership (Sales, Marketing, Technical, R&D, Procurement) to identify and assess new product/system opportunities. Member of Sika Roofing LET (Local Expert Team) to review and support Sika Innovation projects. Participate in Sika Innovation workshops to build product/system pipeline.
· Bring new products/systems to market following Sika’s Product Creation Process (PCP) – a stage gate/milestone process engaging multiple functions including R&D, Technical, EHS, Procurement & Manufacturing. Once the PCP is completed, Product Manager launch responsibilities include initiating SAP PHN (Product Hierarchy Number) & part number requests, confirming list price and discount level, and preparing Product Announcement and supporting technical documentation.
· Negotiate and execute private label and/or resale agreements with third party suppliers. Establish business tenets, objectives, pricing and plan. Collaborate with Sika Legal to create, negotiate and consummate the supply agreement.
· Coordinate development and maintenance of product labels. Submit request to Corporate EHS through SDS-Q to generate SDS (Safety Data Sheet) and required GHS information. Collaborate with Marketing to create label artwork and submit to EHS for approval. Revise/update labels when technical and/or EHS information changes.
· Manage Technical Specialist to create and maintain technical documentation including Product Data Sheets, Guide Specifications, Application Handbook, Product Selection Guides, Technical Bulletins & Memos and CAD details. Review documentation for technical accuracy and clarity, and revise/update when necessary. Interface with Marketing to deliver and communicate information to Sika teams, contractors, specifiers and owners.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent Bachelor's of Science Degree
· Minimum 3 years of product management experience in a similar industry, ideally roofing or building materials
· Ability to structure complex technical information into concise customer focused messages, and to be able to communicate feature/benefits/value proposition to differentiate Sika from competition
· Previous experience with achieving compliance to regulatory requirements and industry standards (LEED, ASTM, VOC Regulations, etc.)
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Advanced technical knowledge of construction products
· Able to establish priorities and act on them to attain business objectives
