Pourtable Operator/Chemical Mixer

  • Assure smooth efficient operation of pour table.
  • Monitor pressure gauges on Rexroth pumps to assure the operation is within the tolerance levels.
  • Monitor all process parameters; ensuring parameters are running within tolerance levels.
  • Adjust ELO’s to assure a consistent lay down and an evenly filled board.
  • Changes all parts (i.e. heads, lines, ELO’s, rupture discs, etc.) as required.
  • Assists in product changes requiring recalibration, different facers, tape and/or load board bottoms.
  • Clean, inspect and assemble mix heads.
  • Checks production schedule determines amount of chemical to mix based on length of run.
  • Mixes chemical batches in accordance with the formulation standards.
  • Deliver appropriate formulated chemicals to the pour table at required temperatures.
  • Adjusts Pump Stroke Length for the given output as necessary.
  • Maintain production record database as required.
  • Record and monitor furnace gas consumption, laminator hours of operation, daily chemical consumptions and run hours.
  • Unload chemical rail cars and assist in receiving and unloading of tankers.
  • Maintain and perform chemical inventories weekly and monthly.
  • Recovery of used chemicals.
  • Keep area clean and presentable.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand during working time of 10-hour shift.
  • The employee is regularly required to walk the length of the manufacturing building (500’).
  • The employee must be able to constantly use feet and legs to regularly climb ladders to the top of rail cars and must regularly step up and down staircases.
  • The employee must be able to constantly use hands, fingers, and arms to adjust operational components of equipment, tools, and controls.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and manipulate foam boards (up to 20 pounds each) and 4x8 wood panels (approximately 50 pounds each) for assembly.
  • Employee must regularly lift and manipulate paper shafts weighing approximately 115 lbs.
  • Employee must regularly lift and manipulate chemical hoses weighing approximately 100 lbs.
  • The employee must occasionally lift pails of liquids weighing 50 lbs.

Required Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write correspondence, maintain written data records, write label information.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations along with standard arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations with multi-digit numbers.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of weight, measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Must be able to read and use a micrometer accurate to .001”.
  • Read a tape measure to the nearest 1/16”
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access)
