Location: open in EMEA with a Sika office present, with approx. 30% travel around the region EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) - relocation to Switzerland is not required.

We are looking for our EMEA Operations team for an Investment & Engineering Construction Project Manager who will provide requirements, analysis, planning, administration, programming, design, construction, and management oversight in our real estate projects for the construction of new production plants, warehouses, and offices, to ensure that all are completed in accordance with established safety, quality, budget, schedule and EMEA Operations strategy. 

  • Support and contribute to the implementation of the EMEA Operations strategy regarding engineering and investments and support investment projects (RPA), in active collaboration with internal stakeholders (Corporate Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Sika local companies)
  • Work in a dynamic and fast-growing environment with a high degree of multi-functional collaboration.
  • Lead and Support of Engineering projects for individual equipment/plants up to new sites in all countries in the region (improvements, optimization, capacity expansions) and manage all aspects of project execution.
  • Support the projects in an international environment: provide the Sika local organizations in the countries with expertise and guidance in local projects with project management and technical know-how (BDPs) developing, organizing, delivering and monitoring the entire project execution including all technical and the non-technical aspects of the project (kick-off meeting, engineering, manufacturing phase, logistics, change orders or claims, commissioning, and start-up to warranty period, close-out reports).
  • Understanding, leading and interfacing with experienced contractors to execute the projects in terms of safety, quality, budget, and schedule.
  • Define and ensure production engineering as well as civil engineering standards and best practices across EMEA.
  • Drive continuous improvement processes, operational efficiency, and sustainability strategy across EMEA.

Your expertise - Our strength

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
  • Further education and/or qualifications in Project Management is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a professional in the construction industry. Experience in Industrial Processes and/or logistics is of advantage.
  • Proven experience in complex projects as part of a matrix organization and working with multi-cultural, remote teams.
  • Proven project management experience in Industrial and Commercial projects and/or construction related fields (projects such as data centers, production facilities, logistics centers, distribution centers, large commercial buildings…):
    • Tendering and contracting, estimation, project controlling and contract claims management and arbitration.
    • Knowledge of design and engineering scope, cost, and schedule control tools
    • On-site project management and construction management experience
    • On-site safety requirements in construction
  • Familiar with European construction and engineering standards (civil, mechanical, electrical, fire protection) and permitting processes.

 

Knowledge& Skills

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  • Fully proficiency in English with strong negotiation, communication, and social skills. Knowledge of additional European languages is of advantage.
  • Results oriented with strong strategic and conceptual thinking: analytical skills, business insight and visionary approach.
  • Flexible for global travels in the area (approx. 30% of the working time)
